In Washington, Congressman Tiffany voted for the disastrous and deeply unpopular budget law that guts Medicaid, kicks thousands of Wisconsinites off SNAP, and drives up utility bills and housing costs. Tiffany even praised the law as “a major win for the American people.” Later, when Congress voted on legislation to address high housing costs, Congressman Tiffany couldn’t be bothered to show up — missing three separate votes on the bill.
Finally, Congressman Tiffany is also Wisconsin’s top proponent of the cost-raising tariffs that are hurting
families and businesses and decimating Wisconsin farmers: Tiffany voted seven times to defend the reckless tariffs — including on Canada – which cost Wisconsin households $1,000 last year and have put Wisconsin cattle ranchers and soybean farmers “in the middle of a trade war.”
After bragging that 2026 would be the “cheapest year for gas since 2020,” Congressman Tiffany has repeatedly voted to rubber-stamp Donald Trump’s war in Iran that has sent gas prices soaring and
led to higher costs for everything.
Congressman Tiffany’s extreme agenda would cost Wisconsin seniors dearly. In Washington, he helped write a plan that called for raising the retirement age for Social Security and Medicare, cutting benefits. He also worked on the Republican budget proposal that would gut Medicare and turn it into a voucher system, and even voted twice against protecting Medicare from automatic cuts, instead voting to “slash billions of dollars” from the program.

Congressman Tom Tiffany is as extreme as it gets when it comes to protecting women and survivors of sexual abuse.
In Washington, Congressman Tiffany has pushed an extreme national abortion ban that would outlaw the procedure beginning at conception, with no exceptions for victims of rape or incest or for the life of the mother. His legislation “would also override any state laws governing abortion access,” and may even “jeopardize access to in vitro fertilization and other fertility treatments.” He also voted against a bipartisan bill to protect Wisconsin women’s ability to cross state lines to obtain legal abortions, and even opposed bipartisan legislation that would have ensured a women’s right to access birth control.

Throughout his career, Congressman Tom Tiffany has voted to stack the deck against Wisconsin families and businesses, voting to make permanent massive tax giveaways for the wealthiest Americans and biggest corporations, while opposing tax cuts that would have benefited the overwhelming majority of American families. His vote for Donald Trump’s Big Ugly Budget Law resulted in sweeping cuts to Medicaid and 15,000 Wisconsinites losing food assistance, sent health care costs soaring for more than a quarter-million Wisconsinites, and forced tens of thousands of Wisconsinites to cancel their health insurance entirely.

The pain doesn’t end there, though — Congressman Tiffany also pushed for permanent tax loopholes for corporations that, according to nonpartisan experts, resulted in “tax cuts for multinational corporations [that] will reward companies that choose to invest more overseas.”

Congressman Tom Tiffany voted against certifying the 2020 election, signed on to a brief to overturn the outcome of that year’s election, and said he “said he would have objected to his own state's electoral votes, too, if he had the opportunity.” Later, he defended participants in the deadly January 6 riot as “victims,” and said they may be entitled to financial compensation.
Congressman Tiffany also continues to parrot lies about “discrepancies” in that year’s election, supports Trump’s FBI probe into Wisconsin’s elections that threatens Wisconsinites’ private voting data and wants to get rid of mail-in voting, even though he’s voted by mail himself a dozen times. As investigations from the Washington Post and USA Today have reported, Tiffany’s longstanding record of election denial makes clear that his extreme agenda could undermine the rule of law and further erode trust in our democracy in future elections in this perennial battleground.
